Education

I am a Junior Zoology major at Auburn University, planning to graduate in Spring of 2012. I am in the Honors College program and currently have a 3.85 GPA.

Experience

For the 2007-2008 school year, I tutored at an elementary school in the afternoon for students of all ages and in all subjects. I tutored in subjects ranging from general math to writing. In high school, I took five different AP subjects: European History, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Calculus AB, Psychology, and Biology. I received a score of a four on the AP European History exam, and fives for the Biology, Calculus, and both English exams. I received a cumulative score of 2010 on the SAT (including the writing section). For the math and critical reading portions I received a 1350. Though my professional goal is to become an animal researcher, particularly of marine mammals, I have found from both high school and college activities that I really enjoy working with kids of different ages. Tutoring the kids at an elementary school, and later acting as a teaching assistant in a kindergarten classroom, was one of the most rewarding and positive experiences in high school. I have since really enjoyed being a camp counselor at fishing camp for kids ranging from 10 years old to 15.
