Education

High School degree (3.98 GPA). Bachelor of Science 2016, majored in Wildlife and Conservation Biology, and minored in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management from University of Minnesota (3.7 GPA). Semester Exchange at University of Hawaii 2015, studied Marine Biology (4.0GPA) Dean's List five times. I graduated from my undergrad with Phi Beta Kappa Honors, given only to students at the top 10% of their university that also have significant coursework in both the humanities and sciences. Currently pursuing Master of Science at Auburn University.

Experience

During my undergrad, I tutored for a year and a half as a part of the America Reads program that focused on literacy development in inter-city schools. While tutoring for America Reads I received the Tutor Honor Roll Award for outstanding level of dedication and commitment to excellence. I transitioned from teaching reading to teaching science as I developed as a scientist myself. I volunteered for Teaching SMART (Science, Math, and Research Technology) for three years. I would develop and teach lessons in middle schools. During my third year I served as president and coordinated other volunteers and assisted with their lesson planning. I also tutored college level statistics one-on-one. In high school I took AP Language, Literature, US History, and World History. In addition, I took multiple classes for college credit (ranging from psychology to math to chemistry) and already had 40 credits when I began as a freshman at my undergrad university. My GRE scores for entry into graduate school were above 75th percentile for Verbal Reasoning (Reading) and Quantitative Reasoning (Math). In my graduate program I have taken statistics and science classes. I currently TA an undergraduate statistical analysis class and tutor a few grade school students in math, reading, spelling and grammar. I am interested in giving back and helping develop young minds. I also firmly believe in showing children the many career opportunities that exist and try to help them find and pursue their own interests. I believe in a well-rounded basic education.
