Gender:Female
Preferred Subjects:Geography, Study Skills/Organization, General Math, and Earth Science
Experience:Why I am most qualified:
-During my Sophomore year of highschool I was excepted into an Early College Enrollment Program (ECEP) which allowed me to finish my Junior and Senior years of highschool taking college courses at a local college where I majored in Business Management.
-I graduated in the top 10 of my Senior class and earned an Advanced Diploma.
-I was the Senior Class Representative and served on the Heritage Panel while also being involved in several other clubs and organizations.
-I spent a great amount of my free time volunteering. I volunteered at my highschool during those last two years, working in our counselors' office.
-I also volunteered at UAB hospital for 2 summers in their TeenAge Volunteer program, where I not only took on volunteer duties but also had the privilege in serving on the Leadership Team and writing for the TAV weekly newsletter!
-It was important to earn money during highschool so I put my brain to work and began tutoring! I tutored for pay through connections made in school, family and church.
-My most rewarding tutoring/volunteering position was when I was a Big Sister in the Big Brother/Big Sister Program. I was a mentor to three lovely young girls and also spent several days during the school week helping them with their studies!
-Last but not least, my life experience qualifies me. I am the first of 5 children! I gained much of my experience and strengths (patience, empathy, being a motivator and problem solver) from helping my brothers and sisters with their studies and daily responsibilities.

Currently:
-I am a Junior, I was accepted into the Communication Disorders program this Fall! I'm working towards becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist.
-I am in a organization known as NSSLHA.
-I am currently taking:
Human Development and Family Studies
Introduction to Logic
World Literature
Phonetics
Introduction to Speech Pathology and Audiology
Speech and Hearing Science
Hobbies:I love to read and would spend a lot more time doing it if time permitted! I like to cook, learn about different cultures and learning Spanish.
I also love to spend time with my dog, Yoko!
